Solar Crowned MSI Beat IT 2014 Global StarCraft II Champion!

[Taipei, Taiwan] The MSI Beat IT 2014 Global Grand Finals began on November 1st and ended conclusively on Monday morning November 3rd, crowning Korean Zerg player Solar as the MSI Beat IT 2014 Global StarCraft II champion.
After grueling Ro16 and Ro8 matches on November 1st, Rogue, Solar, PartinG and YoDa came out on top and advanced to RO4. Starting off November 2nd was the first semifinal, between two Korean Zerg players Rogue and Solar. The second semifinal featured Korean Protoss player PartinG versus Korean Terran player YoDa. And then the 3rd place match saw Zerg player Rogue beating Terran player YoDa. The climax of the night came when Solar and PartinG staged their ZvP playoff. In fact, earlier that day in an interview for champion contenders, Solar picked PartinG when asked about the preferred player to face off against in the championship. As if predestined, Solar faced PartinG in the grand final, bringing us an intense and exciting championship match.

Nov. 2nd, Semifinals: Korean Zerg Player Rogue vs. Korean Zerg Player Solar
Rogue defeated Journey and Flash on Nov. 1st and secured his ticket to RO4. In the first semifinal he faced the 2014 DreamHack Open: Stockholm champion Solar. Rogue claimed the first victory. But seasoned player Solar caught up later on Overgrowth LE, Catallena LE and Foxtrot Labs LE. With excellent micro and mind games, Solar beat Rogue with a beautiful 3-1 victory and advanced to the championship.
Nov. 2nd, Semifinals: Korean Protoss Player PartinG vs. Korean Terran Player YoDa
In the 2nd semifinal, PartinG and YoDa brought us an amazing PvT face-off. Using blink and unexpected strategies, PartinG got his first victory on King Sejong Station LE. The second round on Overgrowth LE, PartinG won again with DT build and masterful tactics. PartinG claimed his third victory on Merry Go Round LE where he took down the opponent with macro and Colossus drop. An amazing 3-0 victory qualified PartinG for the grand final.

Nov. 2nd, Championship: Korean Zerg Player Solar vs. Korean Protoss Player PartinG
he grand final saw exciting and intense matches between top players Solar and PartinG. PartinG pulled out two consecutive wins on Nimbus LE and Foxtrot Labs LE with decisive tactics like drop and blink. Later on Overgrowth LE, Solar finally managed to claim his first victory with Zergling and Mutalisk. With smooth play and the seemingly immortal Colossus, PartinG pulled out his third win on Catallena LE. The fifth battle took place on Deadwing LE. PartinG’s early withdraw gave Solar the chance to attack with Mutalisk. Along with his economic advantage, Solar finally claimed his second win. And then, Solar tied the game at 3-3 with his victory on King Sejong Station LE. The decisive match started on Merry Go Round LE where Solar defeated his opponent with his advantages in economy and technology. After 7 tight and amazing matches, Solar beat PartinG 4-3 to claim the MSI Beat IT 2014 Global StarCraft II champion.
After months of intense competition, the MSI Beat IT 2014 Global culminated in the Grand Finals and was rounded off successfully on Monday morning November 3rd.
